Join us in celebrating our anniversary with a panel-based discussion on Poland’s entrepreneurial spirit
Made up of four experienced investors, the panel discussion will center around Poland’s startup ecosystem, in the present and future. Learn how Poland’ innovative spirit is extending beyond the border of the homeland and generating interest among investors worldwide.
Our panelists include:
Adam de Sola Pool – CEO, Enviornmental Partners
Adam is an investor, mentor, and new technologies competition judge with 20 years of experience in clean energy & water and hardware companies. A former venture capitalist, he helped to start over twenty renewable energy and environmental companies in central Europe. He is also a former Chairman of the AmCham Energy & Environment Committee, where he acted as a liaison between America and Poland on energy issues. Adam has been presented the Cleantech Investment Forum Pioneer Prize for his work in central Europe. He now also serves as an active mentor at MIT and Northeastern Universities.
Anna Koscielecka – Investor, Aberdeen Asset Management
Anna is an investor on the Global Private Equity team at Aberdeen Asset Management. She is responsible for identifying, performing due diligence on, and monitoring primary and secondary investments, and co-investments. Her prior professional experience includes investing in international PE/VC and advising middle-market companies. Anna started her career in the Investment Banking Division as Wells Fargo Securities in San Francisco, CA. She has participated in several start-up competitions and accelerator programs. Anna has also presented at industry conferences in the U.S. and Europe, including leading a panel discussion on innovation at Harvard.
Chirstopher Sekula – Principal, Cambria Group
As Principal of The Cambria Group, Chris works on the full spectrum of the firm’s activity, including evaluation, due diligence, and recruiting efforts as well as on portfolio company oversight. He also serves as a director of several private companies. He has advised numerous investors on business due diligence and has led a variety of growth and operational improvement initiatives in portfolio companies. Chris also specializes in designing and implementing programs to enhance client companies’ operating performance and profitability and in conducting acquisition due diligence reviews. Mr. Sekula had been actively involved in the underground anti-communist movement in Poland and, after the introduction of martial law, was granted political asylum and later citizenship in the United States.
Greg Geehan – Partner, Next Gen Venture Partners
Greg is a development and relationship management professional with extensive experience in building new internal positions and processes, managing software implementations, developing client relationships and leading teams. Greg is an early stage technology start-up investor and advisor with a focus on digital health and international start-ups. He is currently over operations at athenahealth’s More Disruption Please, a Founding Venture Partner with NextGen Venture Partners, sits on the advisory board of PLUG XL Accelerator and advises technology startups. He received an MBA from Bentley University.
